What's been the most exciting & rewarding parts of your role so far?

Elevating the website to be better than ever and being part of the tech team behind the brand launch.

What's been your most memorable/favourite moment of the year?

The afterparty at pop up.

What's your reflection on the year?

Its been thoroughly enjoyable to learn new skills and to have an impact.

What advice would you give to next year's MiB team?

You are not just limited to your specific role duties, get involved with everything. Web managers have a surprising amount of variety from running the website to being technical support at events.

What skills have you gained from being part of the team?

Web Design and learning to use the soundboard for events.

What's been the funniest part of the year?

Carrying the bar to the popup venue through the streets of London and the Friday of the popup event, Ps I was a bit hungover.

Chloe McCourt - Director

What's been the most exciting & rewarding parts of your role?

Leading the team and being part of everything that happens in Made in Brunel.

What's been your most memorable/favourite moment of the year?

The reveal of our brand room shocked everyone (and us not almost not having enough time to cut the wires before people walked in!)

What's your reflection on the year?

This year is been rewarding for all the hard work we have put in, from the successful brand launch to pop up to hopefully a great final showcase.

What advice would you give to next year's MiB team?

Plan your time well, and start things early! Things get busy towards the end of the year, you will thank past you for planning ahead!

What skills have you gained from being part of the team?

Leadership and communication have definitely improved. With such a big team communication is key!

What's been the funniest part of the year?

Will interviewing Sophie Denham during the sketch off and accidentally sounding very sarcastic even though he really didn’t mean to.

What's been the most exciting & rewarding parts of your role?

Being able to create content that is being seen by thousands of people and trying to push the boundaries of what MiB has done in the past.

What's been your most memorable/favourite moment of the year?

Setting up for events is always great. Everything is always very last minute but somehow we manage to pull it off. Seeing the public pour into the venue which you've been setting up all day and having a good time is very rewarding.

What's your reflection on the year?

MiB has provided an outlet to take a step away from the seriousness of university work and focus on something fun and exciting.

What advice would you give to next year's MiB team?

Team - Don't be afraid to speak up and say your opinions, you want the make sure everything the team is producing is the best it can be.

Role - Keep taking the content to the next level. The edit buttons on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn will be your best friend.

What skills have you gained from being part of the team?

My Keyshot skills have grown greatly while producing content for socials.

What's been the funniest part of the year?

The nights out after events. You've been stressed out all day during the setup and running of an event, the night out after is a good excuse to de-stress.

What's been the most exciting & rewarding parts of your role?

Having the “eureka!” moment for this years branding and seeing it grow and develop with the help of the team and their ideas!

What's been your most memorable/favourite moment of the year?

The design off - I loved seeing the creativity of ideas and seeing how everyone takes the same brief in a different direction. The halftime quiz was also very fun and I got pretty competitive…

What's your reflection on the year?

Returning to university after a challenging pandemic placement year was not what I was expecting when I started university, but I’m excited to graduate my final year in design after applying myself to many new challenges I never thought I could have done!

What advice would you give to next year's MiB team?

Don’t take it too seriously, communicate with your team, and make sure to get to the free bar before the drinks run out!

What skills have you gained from being part of the team?

I’ve learned how to run branding workshops, build a brand, and cooperate on a large scale project as part of a team.

What's been the funniest part of the year?

How happy (and slightly drunk) the MiB team were after our successful brand launch event! We had a great night out in Venue afterwards too, we definitely deserved to celebrate.

The hands on nature of the the work, printers visits, discussions and the creative side.

The big reveal of the brand room, very cool!

Organised chaos, the fun kind.

What advice would you give to next year's MiB team?

Start early and do a little at a time.

What skills have you gained from being part of the team?

Public speaking and management skills.

What's been the funniest part of the year?

Pop up - a super fun event with great energy. Lovely location and many laughs with the team.

I get to talk to people and have the freedom to create cool staff that otherwise I would need to be a big boss to create.

What's been your most memorable/favourite moment of the year?

Going back to the bean bags after the brand launch.

What's your reflection on the year?

Sleep more, eat more, do more MiB.

What advice would you give to next year's MiB team?

If you’re an introvert do not do Marketing.

What skills have you gained from being part of the team?

I have now mastered my techniques for getting people to do/give me stuff, which can come in handy in life.

What's been the funniest part of the year?

Not having a brand a week before brand launch.
