Over the past few years my degree in Industrial Design has given me a series of diverse & interesting design projects covering all disciplines, providing me the confidence to pursue a career in design. My year in industry at Metso Minerals introduced me to practical engineering while my placement year at Yellow Pages gave me valuable experience in graphic design & working to tight deadlines. Also university life has helped me follow the hobbies of climbing & set design for amateur dramatics.

Soundman Harness

A harness designed to reduce the physical strain on a TV production soundman’s body. An average soundman carries around 10kg of equipment for 8 to 18hr during a shooting day. The current harnesses are difficult to put on and take off, so most soundmen just use a bag. The soundman’s harness is designed to be easier to use than the current models available. Also spreading the load of the weight carried, so reducing the common injuries sustained currently in a working day.
