As an aspiring mechanical design engineer, this project provided the ideal platform to put engineering theory into practise, having been soley responsible for the design and manufacture of the end product to be used on the Brunel Formula Student car.

I am hoping to continue my studies into the automotive applications of FEA/CFD at postgraduate level and look forward to a career within the automotive industry.

Brunel Racing - BR8 pedal box

Design and manufacture of the 2007 brunel racing pedal box assembly. Utilising engineering plastics and carbon fibre for the pedals, with an innovative aluminium frame. Quick release mechanism for easy adjustment for different height drivers. Extensive testing cariied out on glueing techniques for composite/plastic combinations. Heavy emphasis on the use of CAE programs, the majority of the design done using solidworks and tested using Abaqus.
