CHRIS WILSDON

PRODUCT DESIGN BSc

I LIVE FOR FRESH AIR, photography and music but design is something I really enjoy. If through it, I can share a bit of my knowledge, creativity, time and energy to help a good cause, I’ll be happy at work.

A bit more about me...

SPECIALIST SKILLS

The broadness of my University course has taught me a lot, bringing context to everything I think about. I hope it won't all be encountered on a daily basis but would be happy to keep using CAD in such a way, whether for 3D work, with SolidWorks or 2D, with Adobe's Creative Suite.

GOLD DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD

Something that I'm proud to have done and have respect to others for, the completion of all three awards shows that you can 'do stuff' as well as learn. Presented by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh after completion in July 2003.

BREATH TRAINING FOR MUSICIANS

Whether physical or mental, no skill can be mastered without the development of good technique. Achieving this takes significant effort for most people, but 'practice makes perfect', and in a strive to 'make it look easy' ... reduced performance effort is a worthwhile goal. Poor breathing technique was/is a common problem among brass players, resulting in the (potentially damaging) placement of excessive mouthpiece/labial pressure.

The hand–held device shown (in the gallery below; cross-section of evaluation model) has been designed specifically to help such musicians improve their respiratory strength and therefore performance control. Real–time, mechanical feedback is provided to support training exercises and to quantify progress.

PHOTOGRAPHY

If a picture is "worth a thousand words"the gallery below should at least give you an idea of who I am... and if you also figure out what I want to do as a job, please let me know!
