MULTIMEDIA TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN BSc
I am interest in photography, computer graphics and cities. I wanted a project that combined these, and settled upon a 'virtual city'. This city, New Ping, is described to viewers with text, music and illustrations in a Flash projector file. The images shown here are scenes from the city.
Brutalist Buildings - Multi-use buildings, designed to provide cheap space for shops and industry. The brutalist buildings are now showing their age.
Turbines -
An area in New Ping where the goverment tested a scheme to boost electricity supplies by subsidizing
wind turbines. The scheme was ill managed and failed, but the turbines still exist.
New Ping International -
A busy airport where the planes land on runways over the water and are parked under the airport building.
Arena District -
An area of the city that isn't legally controlled by the government. Inspired by Kowloon Walled City
in Hong Kong, housing thousands of people who wish to operate outside the law.
