KERRY STARTUP-LAWRANCE
MULTIMEDIA TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN BSc
I have worked in educational software for 5 years, as assistant project manager supporting the education and test departments, and recording and processing sound. Four months of my sandwich year were spent in the lab in India, as a flash developer.
Educational Software - Each activity encourages the user to expand on their fine motor skills by getting them to draw a variety of lines, such as horizontal and wavy lines.
Dino Doodles
This interactive multimedia product has been designed in conjunction with Sherston Publishing Group, an educational software company. I am working with Sherston author Sarah Helton and a freelance artist, Garry Godel, to get the CD on the market and into classrooms later this year. It is designed for the 'Early Years' market (3-5 year olds) or SEN (3-9 year olds) and can be used on interactive whiteboards and touchscreens.
Dino Doodles is designed to help develop mouse and pre-writing skills in young children, in an encouraging and fun environment. The main character Danny, takes the user through 9 colourful and motiviting activities, each one building up the user's fine motor skills. There is also a 'free play' activity that allows the user to practice certain skills, as well as allowing the teacher to use the product for whole class teaching.
